July's Rum of the Month - Koko Kanu
Nothing says summer like a Caribbean rum infused with a light twist of coconut. There are a few famous rums infused with coconut - but July's Rum of the month 'Koko Kanu' is a hidden gem.
Strictly rooted in Jamaica
The Jamaican way of life has revolved around rum for centuries, with folk songs recounting tales of its potency. Going back even further, before the days of rum, Jamaica's rich and vibrant history stemmed from the Arawak Indians. Their native language provides several words we still use today, including hammock and canoe. When looking for inspiration to name their rum, distillers J Wray & Nephew chose 'Koko Kanu' in honour of these proud and peaceful people.
Rustic elegance
First produced over 150 years ago at the legendary J Wray & Nephew distillery, Koko Kanu will take you back to an era full of rustic elegance, lustful adventure and exotic charm. The rum embodies Jamaica's carefree soul, and the subtle blend of crystal clear rum and refreshing coconut flavour makes it a surefire summer hit.
Whether you like piña coladas or a coconut daiquiri, Koko Kanu can be enjoyed in a host of different cocktails, long drinks, or simply neat over ice. This versatile rum is the perfect new addition to our bar menu. We highly recommend trying it whilst relaxing in the gardens at Greenhills this summer.
