May's Rum of the Month - Pusser's Rum

A fine tradition

The word 'Pusser' is derived from 'Purser', the officer who, for three centuries, served a daily rum ration to every mariner on board every Royal Navy ship. Sadly (for some) that tradition came to an abrupt end in 1970, but the fact the Admiralty wanted to ensure onboard sobriety isn't a reason to stop the rest of us from enjoying this finest of rums.

The taste of adventure

The editors of Forbes magazine were so taken by Pusser's Blue Label that they called it "one of the ten best rums in the world" and likened it to "the single malt of rum". Offering a nose that involves classic Demerara sugar, molasses, dried fruits, island spices and caramel, Pusser's Blue Label really does capture the taste of overseas adventures.
