Three ways to escape the hustle and bustle this bank holiday
The first of May's bank holiday weekends is upon us, and Jersey is preparing for one of its busiest periods of the year. Over the weekend St Helier will be buzzing with activity as the annual Boat Show, the island's largest free event, opens its gates to the public.
At the Weighbridge, final preparations will be being made for the annual Liberation Day celebrations which take place on Thursday 9th of May.
So if you want to the escape the crowds in town this May bank holiday, why not take a trip out to the beautiful St Peter's countryside and pay a visit to our country house hotel.
Here are three of our guests' favourite ways to enjoy time out here in the country.
Afternoon tea in the garden
Enjoy a traditional afternoon tea with all the trimmings amongst our beautiful gardens. There aren't many better ways to relax and recharge than sipping a cuppa and eating a delicious slice of homemade cake!
Afternoon tea is served Monday to Saturday (2.00 pm - 5.00 pm) and Sundays (3.00 pm - 6.00 pm).
Cocktails in the lounge
For those looking for something a little stronger, may we suggest taking a pew in our lounge and making yourself familiar with our cocktail menu. Featuring all the classics, as well as a few house specialities, these cocktails are sure to kick your evening off the right way.
Worried about getting peckish? Don't be. Our light bites menu is the perfect accompaniment to a couple of drinks, packed full of delicious nibbles and finger foods, and less formal than dinner in the restaurant.
Dinner in the restaurant
The ultimate bank holiday treat is booking a table in our beautifully appointed restaurant and settling in for a night of culinary indulgence. Our expert chefs design a spectacular 'Table d'hôte menu' each day, and our outstanding new a la carte menu is also available.
Our restaurant is popular and booking is essential. To make a reservation call our team on +44 (0) 1534 481 042.
