A big Merton welcome to Luis - our new General Manager

Last week we previewed some of the changes we made during our winter break. One of the most significant changes for the Merton team was saying goodbye to longstanding General Manager, Michael McInerney, and welcoming his replacement Luis de Oliveira.

A little more about Luis

Luis de Oliveira has been a part of the Seymour Hotel's family for a little over 17 years, working as the General Manager at our sister hotel The Pomme d'Or before joining us. 

But like many of the Merton team, Luis hasn't always lived and worked in Jersey. He was born in Mozambique, schooled in South Africa and worked at some of the most prestigious hotels there and in the United States. But since arriving in the island all those years ago, Luis has made Jersey home for himself and his family.

New manager, new hotel features! 

Since he made the jump from the Pomme, Luis has been busy overseeing the refurbishment of The Belvedere, the Merton's home of big buffet breakfasts and hearty wholesome dinners. A stylish new colour scheme and upgraded soft furnishings have helped breathe new life into our trusty family-friendly restaurant.
