Our Restaurant Manager, Peter has returned from Kenya!
Peter is a familiar face in the Belvedere Restaurant, the Merton Hotel’s main restaurant. He arrived back on the Island last week having travelled from his home in Kenya and started his first day back in charge on Monday 10th August.
The team of young waiters and waitresses were delighted to welcome Peter back, as were our customers, many who have known Peter for the last 18 years.
Peter was blown away by the ‘new look’ Belvedere Restaurant, especially now that the new buffet and servery has been installed. He said “The energy savings created by switching over to induction will be very noticeable for us as a business and our customers will benefit from the stylish new look and the way we can present the dishes.”
We’ve adapted our procedures this year to ensure we adhere to new government guidelines so our team of young waiters and waitresses are on hand to serve customers to ensure reduced touch points.
Scott Hollywood, Resort Manager said “Many of the team are students from across a variety of schools in the Island, some who are in their second or third season with us. They have done a wonderful job under the circumstances and it is clear that they have been honing their customer service skills, which will undoubtedly give them life skills for the future.”
Guests love our breakfasts but the real stars of the show at the Belvedere are our dinners. Our Head Chef, Lee Carrol and his team cook up themed menus featuring delicious dishes from around the world, every day of the week.
