Yoga Classes at the Merton Aquadome
What is yoga?
Whilst yoga might seem like a modern trend, it’s actually an ancient practice that began more than 3,000 years ago in India. The word yoga is Sanskrit, translating to mean the unity of the mind, body, and spirit.
Hatha yoga is the series of physical postures, or poses, that many of us have tried when attending a yoga fitness class.
By regularly practicing these yoga poses, the body becomes stronger and more flexible. There are numerous benefits to the regular practice of hatha yoga, including improved posture, increased energy, focus and improved muscle strength.
Yoga class timetable
There are two different class styles to choose from at the Merton Aquadome fitness centre. Dynamic yoga is ideal for those looking for a challenging class that will build stamina and flexibility, whilst Stretch & Relax yoga is perfect to help you unwind and focus on your breath and alignment.
Dynamic Yoga

Stretch & Relax Yoga

Not only is yoga a great tool for fitness and stamina, but it can also help you unwind from the stresses of everyday life. Whilst your mind relaxes, you’ll find your body feels stretched and energised after taking part in the class.
