David Seymour Steps Down as Managing Director

After 43 years working for the family business, serving 28 of those years as Managing Director, today we announce the retirement of David Seymour as Managing Director with effect from 2nd November 2024. 

David has been at the helm of our family-owned business since 1996, leading with passion, dedication and a steadfast commitment to excellence.

During his working life, David has overseen significant milestones, including the transformation of the Merton Hotel into a premier resort, the acquisition and enhancement of Greenhills as an award-winning luxury country hotel, and the development of numerous projects that have positioned Seymour Hotels as a leader in the hospitality industry. His vision has guided us through challenging times, including the recent pandemic, ensuring our continued success and growth.

We are excited to announce that David’s son, Matthew Seymour, will take over as Managing Director. Matthew has been an integral part of our company for the past seven years, most recently as Business Development Director, bringing innovative ideas and a fresh perspective to our operations. His experience and leadership, particularly during the challenging period of COVID-19, have prepared him well for this new role.

David will continue to support the company as Chair, providing guidance and strategic direction. We thank David for his remarkable contribution to our business and the wider Jersey hospitality industry. We now look forward to the future under Matthew’s leadership, as we continue our commitment to delivering exceptional experiences and creating magical memories.
