Seymour100 centenary website is launched
2020 is an important year for Seymour Hotels of Jersey as we celebrate our Centenary! To mark this incredible milestone it only felt right to create a dedicated Seymour100 website as a tribute and an archive of 100 years of service. Across this centenary website our story unfolds to give you a flavour of the character, resilience and entrepreneurialism of the Seymour family who have been at the helm of our successful business for the past 100 years.
Alongside the website, we have created a Centenary film to celebrate Seymour Hotels, our beautiful island home and our wonderful guests. The story begins in 1919 when newly-weds, George and Ada Seymour, came to Jersey for their honeymoon. They fell in love with the Island and their guesthouse experience sparked the idea that they should start their own.
Determined to help create happy holiday memories for others, they packed up their life in the UK and made the move to Jersey in 1920.
In this special video, Robin, David, and Matthew Seymour (George and Ada’s son, grandson, and great-grandson) share their story of the past 100 years.
