May Day at the Pomme
St Helier's annual May Day celebrations take place in Liberation Square on Monday May 1st, from 10am to 12pm.
As always, you can enjoy music and dance with the Jersey Lilies, the Helier Morris Men and other local dance groups as well as taking part in the ancient Jersey tradition of Bachin ringing. This ancient Midsummer ritual was once carried out in the northern parishes of Jersey, to frighten away evil spirits and promote fertility.
Such an eclectic selection of activities is sure to work up an appetite, so head to the Pomme d'Or Hotel for lunch in our Café Bar where you can relax and watch the world go by before setting off to enjoy the rest of your bank holiday weekend.
