Meet our Front Office Manager, John Kamau

John has decades of experience working in hotels in Kenya, the UK, Jersey and elsewhere, so he understands the importance of a warm welcome when you arrive at the Pomme d'Or. He works with his team to ensure you not only feel welcome, but that the Pomme is your Jersey home from home.

From Kenyan coffee to a Jersey welcome

Born in the coffee growing Central Highlands of Kenya, John learned the value of warm hospitality at a young age. It's second nature to him to ensure that the Front Office team warmly welcomes all of our guests, and that they have the information they need to enjoy a wonderful stay in Jersey.

A history of hospitality

Although John studied accountancy at college in Nairobi, it was the hospitality sector that caught his eye, and after graduating he set out to work in hotels. John's professionalism and dedication to his work have seen him travel the world. As well as working in Kenya, John has worked in South Korea and the UK, all the time learning about other cultures and gaining the experience he needs to become a world-class Front Office Manager.

Extending a warm welcome

John has been a familiar face to guests of the Pomme for over three years, having moved to Jersey in 2014. In that time, he's become a huge fan of the island, enjoying its more relaxed pace of life and falling in love with it's natural landscapes. He enjoys the welcome that Jersey offers to visitors and is proud to lead the team that extends that same warmth at the Pomme d'Or.

If you see John during your stay at the Pomme, don't forget to say 'Hi' - as John knows, a warm welcome goes a very long way!
