Recharge at the Pomme during St Helier's holiday celebrations
Jersey's holiday season really gets into full swing over the first full week of May.
May Day Festival
The Parish May Day Festival kicks things off, beginning on 4th May. Bringing live music and plenty of delicious food to Les Jardins de la Mer on St Helier's seafront, the May Day Festival marks the first of three major events that herald the start of Jersey's holiday season.
Jersey Boat Show
Hot on the heels of the May Day Festival - in fact overlapping with it - is the Jersey Boat Show. Taking place at St Helier Marina from Saturday 5 May - Monday 7 May, the Boat Show is the island's largest free event, attracting tens of thousands of people who want to enjoy a taste of Jersey's maritime scene. From the latest luxury yachts to examples of the island's seafaring heritage, by way of duck races, paddle races and plenty of live music, there really is something for everyone to enjoy at the Boat Show.
Liberation Day
The culmination of this week of celebration is Liberation Day on 9th May. Widely recognised as Jersey's national day, events will be taking place throughout the island. The main Liberation Commemoration will take place in Liberation Square, right outside the Pomme d'Or Hotel, which itself played a key role in the events of that famous day in 1945.
A perfect location
Whether you're a visitor or an islander, the first week of May is packed full of events in St Helier and there's no better place to base yourself than the Pomme d'Or, which is perfectly located to provide a haven from the excitement of these three major festivals. Whether you stay in one of our comfortable and spacious rooms, or just pop in for a seat and bite to eat in our Café Bar, you'll find a warm welcome and a place to recharge in anticipation of the celebrations ahead.
