Sea life

Autumn also sees the return of much of the Island's sea life. As the nutrient rich, cooler waters arrive, so do the local sea bass, bream and gurnard. For many local fisherman autumn is peak season, and the supply of fresh seafood at the market and in restaurants is abundant and varied.

Dolphin watching

Also keen for a feed of fresh fish is the Island's dolphin population. October and November are the best months to see our flippered friends in their natural habitat. Nothing beats the thrill of speeding alongside a school of dolphins as they launch themselves out of the water and chase down mackerel. During autumn, most of Jersey's rib tour companies offer good discounts. 

Queue dodging

With the kids back at school, the Island's best-loved attractions are much quieter. Forget queues, and enjoy taking your time to explore unique destinations like Jersey Zoo, Mont Orgueil Castle and the Jersey War Tunnels.
