Susan Martin's Story

In 1995 we began our search for a suitable holiday for our family, including our young baby, Katherine. We found The Merton Hotel and so began our year annual holiday over a 25 year duration.

Thanks to the brilliant services and facilities to help make holidaying with young children a breeze, our stay at the Merton was always comfortable, and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. One time when the baby was sick on her 'cuddly' blanket that she couldn't sleep without, the friendly Merton staff helped us use the laundry room to wash and dry the cuddly, and baby distress was avoided!

When Katherine became a toddler she would enjoy the Aquadome children's pool. A little older and she would love playing in the crèche, giving Mum & Dad a chance to enjoy an evening meal in the Belvedere restaurant. As the years went on, the Kids Zone was a favourite with Ali and Pete Webb providing the kids entertainment.

As Katherine got older we enjoyed Island Walks with Webb too. Our Merton years have continued to this day. Why would we want to go anywhere else? Nowadays the brilliant Lee Cornick provides the evening entertainment and his enthusiasm is fabulous ! We had our Silver Anniversary planned for August 2020. Not our 25th Wedding anniversary, but our 25th Merton Anniversary. With lock down now in progress we just hope that we can return soon. Thank you Merton for all our 25 years.
